St Michael's Church

The photo on the left shows St Michael's Church. The photo on the right shows the high cross which would have marked the burial place of of someone very important. Such crosses are called "leacht" in Irish meaning monument as in Taimhleacht which is the Irish for Tallaght meaning the "plague monument".

The photo on the left shows what was the kitchen/Refectory where the monks had their meals.

Water Storage

There is no drinking water on the island but the monks devised a method of collecting rain water through a series of channells which flowed into a storage area near the kitchen.
